How Can We Help?

Before discussing possible solutions to this problem, let's quickly review how rapid climate change in the Pacific Islands has contributed to the range shift of the tuna species and the subsequent economic impacts on the fishing industry and local economy of the Fiji and Kiribati islands.

****NOTE: Above is my original synthetic figure****

How can we help fishermen in Fiji islands and Kiribati?

What can we do to alleviate the effects of climate change?
We can try to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas by cutting down our daily use of energy.

For example, we can drink cold water and just stay "cool" and turn off the airconditioners in our rooms!

To make a significant impact on this, we probably need to take actions in a large scale and for a long period of time!

However, are you really willing to turn off your airconditioner to save tuna in the Pacific?

If not, are there any other options for us?

Could captive breeding be an alternative solution to this problem?

Let's hear from Australian Seafood CRC with Clean Seas Tuna and their research partner!

Please take 3 minutes to watch this video! It will be worth of your time!

What is your opinion on this? Do you think it is cost-efficient?

Now, take a moment and think about how climate change can affect your life.

What can we do?

Thank you for viewing my blog! I hope you enjoyed it!
